Whether you’re looking for per diem, part-time, or full-time work, ShiftMed puts you in control of your schedule as a W-2 employee, ensuring flexible work with reliable pay and benefits. ShiftMed hires licensed healthcare professionals across more than 35 states, including RNs, LPNs, CNAs, STNAs, CHWs, respiratory therapists, and surgical technicians. We connect clinicians with shifts in hospitals, clinics, rehab centers, and nursing facilities, giving you flexible opportunities to work per diem, part-time, or full-time.

Once you work your first shift with us, you’re officially a W-2 ShiftMed employee—which means we’ll send you a W-2 form to file your yearly taxes.  

To join ShiftMed, all healthcare professionals must hold an active license or certification in their field without any board actions or public orders. This includes RNs, LPNs, CNAs, STNAs, GNAs, CHWs, respiratory therapists, radiology technicians, surgical technicians, and other allied health professionals. We also require certain healthcare professionals to have a minimum of six months of clinical experience to apply.

Our onboarding process ensures clinicians meet all state and facility requirements. This includes completing a skills assessment, background check, signing employment documents, and submitting state-specific and facility-specific credentials. This process ensures every ShiftMed clinician is fully qualified, compliant, and ready to provide safe, high-quality care.

Our pay period runs Saturday through Friday, with scheduled paydays every Friday. However, we have options within our app that allow you to access your hard-earned money ahead of schedule. 

ShiftMed Instant Pay™: After you work a shift, you can go into the app and request to receive up to 65% of your pre-tax earnings instantly. We deposit that money directly into your bank account with ZERO transaction fees.  

Next Day Pay®: If your bank doesn't support Instant Pay ACH transfers, you can still get paid before Friday using our Next Day Pay service. After you work a shift, you can go into the app and request to receive up to 65% of your pre-tax earnings the next business day. We deposit your pay directly into your bank account with ZERO transaction fees.

Overtime is available in select circumstances and must be approved in advance.
